This miniature reviewable kuntres (booklet), Umitalmidai Yoser Miculan–Growing Together serves as a basic manual for those who have taken advantage of the opportunity (mitzvah) to tutor, either baalei teshuva or yeshiva bochurim from religious upbringings. The ideas presented here are quite straightforward, compiled from personal experience both tutoring and being taught, and from numerous sefarim cited inside. Although this kuntres includes plenty of tips to promote one’s personal study, the main purpose of this work was not to serve as a self-help aid to learning Gemara but rather to provide the tools necessary to assist others. This kuntres not only stresses the importance on how to build your student by giving them the proper attention, support and encouragement they need, but also offers the mechanechim themselves the motivation and reassurance in what they're doing. The best mechanechim are those who feel they are filling one of the most vital roles in society.
Since chinuch is a delicate subject which requires real expertise, especially when it comes to instructing the mechanechim themselves, always address Da’as Torah for specific questions and special cases. I hope that this kuntres will help lead those who are on their way to lead Clal Yisroel. Everybody has what to give to others!
